چکیده

The Modified Indirect Data Address Word (MIDAW) facility was introduced in the IBM® z9TM processor to improve FICON® performance, especially when accessing IBM DB2® databases. This facility is a new method of gathering data into and scattering data from discontinuous storage locations during an I/O operation. This IBM Redpaper is mainly intended for industry professionals who are interested in understanding IBM z/ArchitectureTM, and people who want to understand the types of workloads that will provide improved performance. Measurement and modeling of DB2 zIIP workloads

IBM System z9 Integrated Information Processors (IBM zIIP) provide very attractive price / performance options for appropriate DB2 environments. They also add complexity to performance management and capacity planning. This paper will discuss sources of data that can be used to estimate the amount of current DB2 workload eligible for zIIP processors. Modeling techniques using that data will sho...

Decentralisation and Health Services Delivery in 4 Districts in Tanzania: How and Why Does the Use of Decision Space Vary Across Districts?

Background Decentralisation in the health sector has been promoted in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) for many years. Inherently, decentralisation grants decision-making space to local level authorities over different functions such as: finance, human resources, service organization, and governance. However, there is paucity of studies which have assessed the actual use of decisi...

Supporting capacity planning for DB2 UDB

Capacity planning is the process of determining the most cost-effective computing environment that meets the current and future demands of a computing system. Capacity planning is important for large database management systems (DBMSs) whose performance can be greatly affected by the amount of available resources and whose workloads can change significantly over time. In this paper, we examine ...

Data Envelopment Analysis with LINGO Modeling for Technical Educational Group of an Organization

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) was developed to help compare the relative performance of decision-making units. It is a non-parametric method for performing frontier analysis. It uses linear programming to estimate the efficiency of multiple decision-making units and it is commonly used in production, management and economics [3]. DEA generates an efficiency score between 0 and 1 for each unit...
